|

|
Course Description The course material is geared toward a ROSCOE environment and the first half-day reviews some basic ROSCOE editing commands. The main content provides a solid foundation for JCL development by reviewing the six basic Job Control Statements and the associated parameters (both positional and keyword) as well as the use of procs (the PROC and PEND statements). This includes specifying and allocating datasets, directing output, documenting jobstreams, and using symbolics, conditionals and IF/THEN/ELSE statements. The course provides hands-on experience through the use of extensive written exercises. Objectives At the end of this course a student would be expected to be able to write and test a maintainable, well-documented JCL jobstream in a ROSCOE environment using the basic JCL statements. The student should also understand and be able to use the PROC and PEND statements given a set of job requirements. Audience This course is geared toward those who have little or no JCL experience or those who are interested in a refresher. Prerequisites None.
