 Course Description

This course provides participants with a foundational knowledge of developing reports using the Crystal Reports 8.5 software. Course content includes report designing and layout, formatting features, filtering, grouping and sorting report data, summary report creation, formulas, graphs, exporting reports, and reporting environment options. The course will also demonstrate ODBC connections to databases, visual linking of database tables, and creating a report using the Report Expert.

 Objectives

This two-day course demonstrates the fundamentals of report development using Crystal Reports, applying it through laboratory challenges about various concepts of reporting.

 Audience

This course is designed for anyone who desires an introduction to the concepts of report development using Crystal Reports, which may be business managers, students, and professionals who are participating in developing reports as needed for business uses.

 Prerequisites

This course assumes that participants possess basic "Windows" environment skills: the capacities to use a mouse, right-click, navigate drop-down and fly-out menus, select objects, etc. For optimal results, participants may possess the following: knowledge of one or more database tools, experience working with formulas (spreadsheets), experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), some understanding of business reporting contexts.
