C has long been a mainstay of application development. This course focuses on providing developers with the knowledge and practical training in the core concepts necessary to enable them to develop applications in this language. The focus is on the syntax of the language, its historical relationship with UNIX, the compilation and debugging process, and using standard libraries. At the end of this course, attendees will have a thorough understanding of the C programming language as well as using the MAKE tool for program management. Course Description This course introduces programming in the C language. Topics include C data types, variables and constants, arrays, input and output, control statements, subroutines, pointers, header files, and compiling, linking and executing programs. Audience Project managers who will be managing C programming projects. Systems and applications programmers who will be developing and or maintaining applications coded in C. Objectives Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
Prerequisites Basic UNIX (AD105) and Windows skills. Familiarity with another structured programming language (Visual Basic (AD130), COBOL, Pascal etc.).
