Course Description This course provides participants with a practical understanding of DML (Data Manipulation Language) within or interacting with the Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 environment. Course content includes describing the capabilities of T-SQL (Transact-SQL), integrating with Visual Basic and Visual Basic Scripting Languages, and applying it to some real-world examples, with hands-on exercises to support the class. Topics include an introduction to T-SQL, manipulating data with T-SQL, advanced query techniques, stored procedures and triggers, introduction to ADO (ActiveX Data Objects), integrating T-SQL with ADO, presenting data to applications/web pages using T-SQL and ADO. Audience This course was designed to train application/web page developers and database designers. Objectives Participants who have completed this course should have the ability to perform the following tasks within or interacting with the SQL Server environment.
Prerequisites Relational Database Concepts (DB100), Visual Basic Fundamentals (AD130), and SQL Programming (DB102) or equivalent background, and a working (introductory) knowledge of HTML.
