Object-Oriented Analysis and
Design (OO200)

Building on from the OO100 course, this course provides the attendee with an in-depth understanding of the analysis and design-level techniques involved in pursuing an object-oriented development lifecycle. Use Case Modeling, static object modeling, dynamic modeling techniques, and implementation issues are covered. In addition, the mapping of object-oriented designs to the relational database environment is covered. At the end of this course, attendees will have gained a good, practical understanding of the various techniques used within the OO development approach, as well as where and how to use them. Course Description The Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OO200) course focuses on providing architects, designers, and developers with the concepts and techniques necessary to effectively design OO applications. The experiences of the consultant lecturers provide both a reality check and real-world rules of thumb to augment the techniques taught. Core analysis and design techniques covered on this course cover the identification and classification of objects, building object models, building behavioral models, and utilizing OO techniques in joint sessions. With the iterative nature of OO development, and the correlation with client/server computing, topics including application partitioning and object model to relational database schema mapping are also discussed. Workshops for this course focus on a previously identified domain of study by participants. This domain(s) of study should be provided to the lecturer two weeks prior to the course being taken. During the course, the individual domain(s) will be used to illustrate examples and for working sessions. Audience Managers and technical staff who are familiar with structured development approaches and who are making the transition into OO. Objectives This course provides:
Prerequisites Introduction to Object-Oriented Methods (OO100) or equivalent background in object-oriented techniques.
